Former Yamaha SRM joins as commercial manager
JG Windows, the Newcastle-based MI retailer, has appointed Paul Donaldson to the newly created position of commercial manager.
Donaldson will be involved in all departments of the business, looking for various ways to improve operations. His first major project will be to significantly expand the acoustic piano trade at both stores. Marketing and communication with customers will also be central to his role, as the store plans to become much more pro-active in the region, working more closely with education authorities, schools, local musicians and teachers.
An experienced MI professional, Donaldson is well prepared for his new role, having worked for the last two and a half years with fellow retailer Omega Music, where he ran the company’s Gosforth piano store.
Most of the last 20 years, however, has seen Donaldson as senior regional manager for Yamaha, selling brass, woodwind and acoustic pianos to the northern half of the UK.
Noting that it is now six months since JG Windows acquired its second store in Gateshead, managing director Rupert Bradbury commented: “The time seemed perfect to significantly strengthen our management team, by taking on someone not only with years of experience in the music industry, but also someone who is from the northeast, understands the strength of the Windows name and has plenty of ideas as to how we can now really take the business forward in the local area.”
