Partnership reformed with controlling stake of major distributor

Bruce Perrin and Brian Cleary have successfully achieved a management buy-out of the Barnes family. Sally Golder (company secretary) and Peter Emuss (retired director) retain their interest in the business.

With immediate effect, Perrin (left) and Cleary (right) have become joint managing directors of Barnes & Mullins and are delighted to be once again working together for the long-term security of the firm.

The Barnes family made it clear two years ago that they intended to sell their controlling interest in the company, so Perrin and Cleary are pleased to be able to bring this period of uncertainty to a positive conclusion.

Brian Cleary has resigned from his position as sales director of Tanglewood Guitar Company and is keen to thank his close friend Tony Flatt for his understanding and support.

Cleary noted: “We’re really happy and relieved that the company is finally back in the hands of a team which cares deeply about its future success.”

My Dad spent many happy years working with B&M as the northern rep in the 60's and 70's and saw Mark Barnes as father figure - He was very glad to hear the news that eventually Bruce and Brian have acquired the controlling interest and the business is in good hands - Good luck and best wishes - Mark Hopkin
