Staff to ride from London to Cambridge to raise money for baby care unit
Six members of staff at Shure Distribution UK are to cycle from London to Cambridge in honour of their late managing director, Dennis Harburn, who suddenly passed away in January this year, after 37 years with the company.
The event will be held in order to raise proceeds for Mrs Harburn’s chosen charity, the Oliver Fisher baby care unit at Medway hospital in Kent. The company has also designed a special T-shirt for the occasion, which features a design based on Kraftwerk's Tour de France album cover. Shure is selling the T-shirts and all proceeds of this will also go to the charity.
Shure would like to extend its sincere thanks to anyone who can sponsor the event.
Unfortunately this particular charity doesn’t accept online donations via justgiving.com, but the company is collecting donations via PayPal to: stevecoulter@btinternet.com.
SDUK’s Paul Crognale commented: "Dennis was a much-loved member of the team here at SDUK and we all want to commemorate him with something he would be proud of. Dennis and his wife were in awe of the work that is done at the unit and so Mrs Harburn has kindly asked that we donate all the proceeds to this very worthy cause."
