New delay pedal is touted as the most advanced of its kind
DigiTech and Sound Technology are showcasing the brand new TimeBender pedal at LIMS 2009.
The TimeBender is touted as the world’s most advanced and delay pedal and features ten delay types: digital, analog, variable speed tape, moving head tape, dynamic (ducking) digital, dynamic (ducking) analog, dynamic (ducking) tape, time warp, reverse, envelope (chopping delay), and a 20 second looper.
The pedal also features full-time delay tone control, multiplier, modulation as well as repeat ping-pong patterns on all delay types to create delay tones unequalled by other delay pedals. To further live performance, the TimeBender adds tap-tempo, infinite repeat, and memory selection control at the user’s feet.
Allowing the user to create custom repeat rhythms or patterns by simply strumming the guitar, up to six taps can be set to quickly create delays that would normally take a rack of effects and hours of programming.
For instance, a six tap moving head tape delay can be created where the delay taps are not equally spaced but fall on beats set by the guitarist.
Users also have the ability to add intelligent harmonies to the delays and can choose from over 100 different voicings, including octaves, fifths, thirds and so on. When the repeats are turned up, layers of singing tones are created to form previously unheard effects.
The DigiTech TimeBender is shipping now priced at £275 (retail), excluding VAT.
