Chinese facility earmarked for high-end guitar production

IBCT Trading has continued to expand its worldwide operation, with the addition of an high-end OEM guitar factory in southern China.

Headed up by Dave Ingham, former production manager of Lowden and Avalon Guitars in Ireland, the new facility promises to offer clients a level of design, technology, quality and product management, rarely seen in China.

“In China, there are very few factories that can make really high end OEM guitars,” commented IBCT CEO Iain Wilson. “Our management team has 15-20 years experience in building $2000 to $25,000 guitars. Production manager Dave Ingham and our special team of UK and US design experts offer a skill base that will allow our new strategic alliance to bring a fresh approach to OEM business.

IBCT will display a number of its new solid top and all solid acoustics at this year’s Music China show in Shanghai (Hall E6, B15). These will be fitted with the latest Fishman OEM pick-ups, including the new Ion and Aero systems, currently being received with much acclaim.
