Classic synthesiser hits Nintendo DS

One of Korg’s renowned vintage synthesisers, the MS-10, is headed for Nintendo’s handheld DS console. Reproducing the quality and behaviour of the original Korg instrument, the Korg DS-10 provides a fully functional, complete synthesiser on the Nintendo DS.

Reviving the Korg MS-10 analogue synthesiser’s behaviour, the Korg DS-10 was fully supervised by Korg while being created. The original Korg MS-10 interface will be spread across the duel screens of the Nintendo DS. The console’s touch screen can be used to modify drumbeats by drawing marks, edit the synthesiser tone colour by tweaking knobs and connecting patch cables between the jacks on the synthesizer patch panel.

“We’re delighted to have worked with AQ Interactive, Cavia and Procyon Studio to develop the KORG DS-10 for the Nintendo DS,” explained Takahiro Sato, division manager of development dept.

for Korg. “The unique and innovative features of the console allow for this much loved synthesiser to become portable tool and allows users to lay down all the elements to build up their tracks on the move.”

Laurent Fisher, managing director of marketing and PR for Nintendo of Europe added: “Korg has been at the heart of electronic music for many years and we are very pleased to be able to offer this new creative platform to Nintendo DS users. Korg DS-10 highlights the versatility of the console for music fans to take their creativeness out of the studio.”

The Korg DS-10 launches across Europe on October 10, 2008.
