High profile MI journalist arrives as Editor at Large
Gary Cooper, one of the most experienced and respected journalists in the MI industry, has joined MI Pro as Editor at Large.
Cooper was previously the star writer on rival trade title, MTN, which was acquired by MI Pro publisher Intent Media last week (11/07), leading to a merger of the two titles.
With an unrivalled network of contacts at the highest end of the global MI business, Cooper will be focusing on delivering big name interviews every month, as well as bolstering MI Pro’s already renowned news content in print and online.
Cooper commented: “It’s been great fun battling the MI Pro team for these past couple of years, but I’m sure it’s going to be even more fun being on the same side. The merger of the two magazines has already been welcomed by the industry as a whole, and one of the upsides, I believe, will be a stronger single publication.
I look forward to working with MI Pro editor Andy Barrett and the rest of the guys to deliver the trade title this industry wants and deserves.”
Intent Media managing director Stuart Dinsey added: “We were delighted to conclude the deal to acquire MTN and one of our immediate priorities was to persuade Gary to join us. It was always apparent to us that he was the key contributor to the mag, and we know that his reputation as a feature writer and news journalist is second to none in this business. This has been a great year for MI Pro so far, and with our strongest editorial team ever I’m sure it will get even better.”

This is very good news for the industry, Gary is a very thorough journalist of the 'Old School' style. His work is both incisive and very relevant, especially in these 'turbulent' times. He can also add a degree of humour when required. I look forward to seeing his work in MI Pro.
