Music Live 2008 welcomes new retail partners

Several members of retail consortium The Firm to be present at the exhibition
A further two retail partners for Music Live 2008 have been secured by the show’s organiser, Clarion Events.
Absolute Music, which will partner the Sounds Expo hi-tech exhibition, and independent retailer network, The Firm, will join Professional Music Technology in partnering this year’s show, which takes places at Birmingham’s NEC from November 7 to 9.
Where The Firm is concerned, several members of its retail consortium – known as Rocktronic Centres – will be present on the company’s exhibition stand at Music Live. These include: Nevada Music (Portsmouth), Bonners (Eastbourne), Fret Music (Southampton), Fairdeal Music (Birmingham), Stagebeat (Farnham), Giggear (Harlow), Solo Music (Nottingham), The Music Company (Crawley) and Eric Lindsey Music (Catford and Reigate). The Firm will also be showcasing product from its own-brand Ridgewood and Rocktronic lines.
This arrangement is likely to welcomed by the significant number of independent retailers, who in past, were unsatisfied by the monopoly that Sound Control had on retailing at the show.
The Firm’s Ian Barnes commented: “this is a golden opportunity to place the Rocktronic Centre membership on the map and to promote the independent music retailer to the public.”
Absolute Music managing director Alan Barclay added: “We are very excited to be a retail partner at Music Live. Sounds Expo is a superb opportunity for us to reach new customers with some great deals on a range of music technology gear. We've been working hard to expand our portfolio to cover everything that the pro musician needs. Guitars and PA are now a major part of our business so Music Live will give us an opportunity to show off the massive range of products that we stock.”
