BCK cites combination of reasons for closure at end of next month
BCK Products Ltd, the keyboard accessory and computer music specialist distributor, is closing down at the end of July 2008 when its lease expires. BCK’s Barry Crane and Gary Turner set up the company 18 years ago, quickly developing a most successful niche business. The pair blames bad debt write off, currency exchange rates and endless government legislation for the decision to not renew the lease on the compnay’s Ongar, Essex premises.
The business and / or distribution rights for individual product lines (including Ketron, Keybags, Keycovers, Keyleads, MIDItech, USB Interfaces and more), existing stock items, databases, warehouse racking, fork-lift, exhibition stand, computer systems, and office equipment are all available for sale.
Contact Crane or Turner for further details or to arrange an appointment to view and discuss – all sensible proposals will be considered.
Depending on offers received, the pair has told MI Pro that it will be business as usual until the end of June 2008, then July will be spent clearing the premises. Crane and Turner would also like to thank all their dealers for the business over the past 18 years and would greatly appreciate their continued support until they finally close down.

Now this really IS depressing news. BCK have been a brilliant supplier for many years. They always have the stock, it's always here the next day, they are such a laugh on the phone. Their technical knowledge is superb. What more could you ask from a supplier?
It is a serious indictment of the business climate in the UK that such a well run company no longer has the incentive to keep trading.
Thanks Barry and Gary, you'll be sadly missed.

This is a real shame a great little supplier that offered superb service. I will certainly miss BCK although my small shop only needed occasional orders it was great to know I could always get a customer a keyboard bag within a few days.

Have to agree with above comments. What a shame that BCK have decided to call it quits but at least it appears that they have got out before things got too bad.
Thanks guys for your help over the last 10 years

Very sorry to hear of this - I have used BCK for years now, and they've been one of the best companies i have dealt with. Always great quick friendly service, and a good range of products. Barry and Gary are always good for a chat on the phone too. Again, really sorry to hear this news. All the best for the future, Yvonne (Bruce Millers, Aberdeen)

You guys were about the best suppliers that we could have ever dealt with. Reliable - always in stock - prompt - full of humour - and most likeable. Good luck for the future. Next time you're in Kent, give me a call - I'll buy you a beer!

A very sad time for all of us who had the privilage of trading with BCK over the years. I can understand the reasons for your taking this step and shame on those who forced this on you. We will miss you, not only for the excellence of your service but also those 'Chats' we had putting the world in order. Take care Barry and Garry you are always welcome when you are in the area.

I have been dealing with BCK for 18 years, so when Barry and Gary close the doors for the last time, our industry will loose the friendliest distributor we had. It is simply the diminishing keyboard market that has evaporated BCK's market. Good luck for the future, and you're always welcome if you're ever passing Bristol.
