Overlays for Yamaha electric build on success of Fender version
Facelift has now been granted a licence to produce designs for the Pacifica – Yamaha's long-time best-selling electric.
Until now, The Facelift, a custom-cut removable and re-usable vinyl overlay for guitar bodies, sold by Rick Parfitt and Mike Hrano’s company, Rockano Productions, has been an officially licensed product for Fender only.
Initially, The Facelift was developed to fit Telecaster and Stratocaster, with three designs available per model. Following the success of the product and release of numerous new designs, the company has decided to produce the Pacifica version.
Parfitt formed Rockano with business partner, Mike Hrano, as an outlet for their ideas, the first of which was Rick Parfitt’s Name Game, published by leading independent games manufacturer and distributor Upstarts during 2004.
“The inspiration for the Facelift came one day as I sat strumming in a dressing room on a UK tour in 2003,” explained Status Quo frontman, Parfitt. “I thought how great it would be if a product was available that could change the way any guitar looked in an instant.”
“Our plan is to increase the range to incorporate many more designs and, more significantly, more guitar shapes as we go along,” added Hrano.
