Musical Instrument Distribution Ireland scoops Drum Workshop
Drum Workshop (DW) professional drums and its entry level PDP range will now be distributed in Ireland by Musical Instrument Distribution Ireland (MIDI), effective immediately.
The new deal coincides with DW’s launch of the new Mexican-made Platinum PDP series of drums, with which DW (and MIDI) is hoping to greatly increase its presence in Europe.
“This is the dawn of a new era not just for MIDI, but for DW,” commented MIDI’s Lesley Kane. “I think we can expect to see a much bigger presence of DW in Europe in the next couple of years and it's a pleasure to be a part of the DW restructure from the onset. Exciting times.”
The move comes after Pearl switched from using MIDI for supply in Ireland to its ‘direct to dealer’ policy, which will see the central Pearl European hub supplying the country from now on. This ended a 26-year relationship with MIDI. “We were of course devastated,” said Kane. “Particularly as we have out performed our European counterparts for many years.”
