Patent pending cable solution poised to hit shelves
DGC has been appointed as the exclusive worldwide distributor of Lock’n’Roll cable storage systems.
To be sold under the Guvnor brand, the patent pending solution, designed in two years by Andy Watt, allows a larger ‘storage disk’ to rotate off a smaller hand held central hub. This allows cables to be wound on and rolled off very easily, with the added benefit of twist and knot prevention – increasing the life of the cable. 20 metre-capacity, colour coded hubs allow cables to be identified quickly and stored as singles or multiples on a single drum.
“Like most gigging and recording musicians I’ve spent too much time untangling and rewinding cables” said Andy Watt Founder and Inventor of Lock’n’Roll, “Not only do you waste so much time, but expensive cables were easily damaged. Finding the right cable at the right time from the mess we always carried around was a nightmare. There had to be a better and faster way”. Well Andy worked on this problem finally coming up with the innovative ‘Lock’n’Roll Cable Storage System.
“When Andy brought the product to us I thought Wow, What a terrific idea,” recalls Simon Cohen, managing director of Guvnor. This is a perfect Guvnor product. Not only is it innovative, but has been designed and developed in the UK. We were determined that we could also manufacture it in the UK – quite a challenge.”
Guvnor will also be launching a series of high quality Guvnor Lock’n’Roll cables, which will be sold both pre-wound on Lock’n’Roll drums and also as separates.
