Leading trade magazine revamps online presence with new look and added features
MI Pro has relaunched its website with a wealth of new content, including a Product section that promises to be one of the most comprehensive reference resources in the business.
The UK’s number one trade magazine has been supported by a vibrant and regularly updated website since it was acquired by Intent Media in 2006. Now, following a period of research and investment, the site has been redesigned and upgraded, with more features and increased user interactivity.
The heart of the site remains the News section. This is updated several times a week and is supplemented by a weekly News Digest (rounding up all the stories of the past seven days) and a Newsflash service that regularly breaks the biggest stories ahead of anyone - both of which are available to members of the site. Click here to sign up.
There is also a dedicated News Feed page, offering a round up of all the latest MI news across the globe from a number of leading online resources.
Also on the new site, for the first time, users will be able to comment on stories, turning the site into a forum for industry debate on the hottest topics of the day. Sign up and become a member and you’ll be able to create your own account with an individual avatar and username.
An expanded Features section, meanwhile, will see interviews with the industry’s biggest names alongside company profiles and informed analysis from MI Pro’s team of writers and contributors.
Another new element, Marketplace, provides key data on the market’s most important suppliers and distributors.
Perhaps the most significant addition in terms of content is a Product section that will cover everything from brass and woodwind to budget electric guitars and everything in between. It will focus on individual products, complete with essential specifications and contact details, as well as offering qualitative assessments of whole sectors.
“After eight years working on MI Pro, this is probably the biggest step forward the magazine has ever taken,” managing editor Andy Barrett stated. “The new website will set a new benchmark in the MI trade by using the internet for what it is best at: providing information.
"As much as MI Pro is the indispensable trade magazine for the musical instrument business, our new website will become the first stop for everyone in the industry looking to find out what's new in every aspect of our work.”
You can see the new site at www.mi-pro.co.uk, and you can sign up for our Newsflash and email digest services here.
