Sample specialist expands its hardware portfolio
ESI has released three new products through its new distributor Time+Space.
The K.ON controller keyboard, ESU1808 USB interface and DuaFire firewire interface are the distributor’s second, third and fourth ESI releases respectively, and closely follow the launch of the Near08 monitor – the first hardware addition to the sample specialist’s portfolio.
The K.ON is an 88-key expandable MIDI keyboard with hammer action and USB connectivity. A total of 18 faders and dials – nine of each – are provided, allowing remote control of software and hardware synthesizers. The keyboard also features expansion slots, which are compatible with existing synth modules from other vendors, including the CME digital piano module and the Waldorf Nano synthesizer.
Utilising ESI´s USB 2 Xtreme technology, The MIDI-equipped ESU1808 is an 18-in/8-out USB 2.0 high-speed external recording interface, compatible with both Mac and PC. Two of the 18 input channels on the one rack unit interface are high quality microphone preamps with balanced XLR inputs and 48-volt phantom power.
The second audio interface in the new range offers firewire connectivity and support for latency values as low as 1.5ms. The DuaFire employs ESI’s EWDM technology and also comes bundles with Cubase LE 4.0.
