Truck loaded with HK gear driven away from hotel in Birmingham
Early on Monday, November 5th, a white MAN 7.5 tonne truck with tail lift, reg FN54 FPZ, on hire to John Hornby Skewes & Co and containing an HK Audio Cohedra line array concert PA, and numerous other systems, was stolen from the hotel car park at the Innkeepers Lodge, Sheldon, Birmingham.
The PA system and various ancillary equipment included Cohedra line array cabinets and subwoofers, plus a number of flightcased VX2400 power amp racks and digital field controllers. All the flightcased cabling/fly bars for the system was also included in the haul, along with a number of HK's self-powered Fast monitors and ConTour CT112 speaker cabinets. The Cohedra mid/high assembies were housed in large grey flightcases, while the subwoofers were mounted four units high on dollies, protected by black Cohedra logo'd road covers.
Additionally, the truck also contained a number of smaller, portable HK Audio PA systems, supplied to various exhibitors for use on their stands at Music Live 2007, including Elias, Max, Impact, Performer and Smart compact active portable PA's, all in HK-branded road covers.
In all, the total value of the goods stolen was in the region of £250,000. Due to the rapid and highly organised nature of the theft, early indications are that the PA truck was professionally 'stolen to order'.
A further press release comprehensively detailing all stolen items and respective serial numbers will be issued as soon as possible.
It would be greatly appreciated if all reading this news flash would please forward the details to any additional contacts (international magazines, pro audio websites etc) who may be able to assist in the recovery of the stolen equipment.
