Public launch of the MI trade’s charity based on first fund raising event

John Booth, the chairman of the MIA’s new charity, Music for All (MfA) has sent out a final call for guests to attend the inaugural event of the charity, to be held at Madame Tussauds on November 23rd.

Roland UK is the official ‘host’ of the event, which will see Rick Wakeman as the evening’s MC, joined by MfA patron, Aled Jones, while Roger de Courcey will present the charity auction. 70's rock legend Argent will be headlining the event, coming together for a one-off performance to help launch MfA.

Should any of you, your customers, friends, colleagues, or acquaintances wish to purchase a ticket (at the value of £150 per person), please contact Janine on 01792 515002 or janinen@roland.co.uk, who will organise this for you and send on the tickets. Further information can be obtained from the website link below.

The auction will feature some quite exclusive items, including a Taylor 714ce acoustic guitar signed by Joe Walsh, a drumming master-class with Deep Purple’s Ian Paice, an Akai MIDI pad controller signed by Genesis, a Fender Telecaster signed by Status Quo, a Roland TD-20K V-Drums kit signed by Omar Hakim, and Katie Melua’s Crafter guitar, among others.

“The mandate of Music for All is simple – to create more opportunities for people to understand and experience the joys and benefits of music making,” said Booth. “As Chairman of this charity the success of this is very close to my heart, but it goes beyond that. Recent research has confirmed a significant demand for learning to play: over 15 million people wish to learn an instrument or return to playing music. Our aim is to help, by developing a range of projects that inspire, educate and enable more people to play music.  These projects will be aimed at all ages, from school children to retirement age.”
