Visitors to this weekend’s London Drum Show will be able to get hands-on with Titan Reality’s Pulse*.
Pulse*, an all-new type of drum interface from music tech specialist Titan Reality, is set to make its debut at this weekend’s London Drum Show, which takes place at London’s Olympia from November 21st-22nd).
The highly portable interface, which utilises 3D virtual technology, allows musicians to access thousands of sounds and instruments that can be controlled in a way that integrates with the user’s natural environment.
Its sensitive 3D sensor can recognise whichever implement is being used to play it – sticks, beaters, hands, brushes etc. Even if the interface isn’t touched, it is capable of recognising the slightest movement in the air above it.
However, when contact is made, it offers a realistic playing experience, with dynamic features such as sliding across the pad with brushes and dampening of drums, while a selection of virtual sticks are also available.
Standard MIDI compatibility enables integration with existing software packages, including Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic Pro X and Garage Band, while instant access to a Cloud-based library of samples and sounds via its free Explore* app (OSX, iOS, Android and Windows) lets users try before they buy.
Users can download an array of unique instruments added monthly, which can digitise any instrument, sound, virtual mic, venue acoustic or piece of audio gear.
It’s also suitable for musicians of all styles – not just drummers. It can be used as a turntable, keyboard and even a theremin, due to its 3D virtual control system.
Pulse* is currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign, which you can find out more about here.
Product demonstrations and a Q&A session will be held at the London Drum Show at Titan Reality’s stand (140).
