Serato unveils DJ-808 Roland DJ controller

The Dj-808 can sync with Roland’s AIRA products and works with Serato’s DJ software.

The DJ-808 also features RGB colour pads, which are velocity sensitive.

Serato has teamed up with Roland to launch a new DJ controller with TR drum sounds.

The DJ-808 comes with 4-channel mixing capabilities, vocal processing, dual-deck control, and TR drum sounds and sequencing, meaning the controller also acts like its very own instrument.

It can sync with Roland’s AIRA products and works with Serato’s DJ software. The built-in drum machine features all the typical sounds – bass drum, snare, hi-hats, claps – from Roland’s TR-808, 909, 707 and 606 drum machines.

All the drum sounds are generated using Roland’s Analog Circuit Behaviour tech and beats can be made with a 16-step TR-S sequencer.

As well as built-in sounds, external instruments can be connected to the DJ-808 via MIDI or the ARIA link USB port.

There is also a high quality mic input and a VT Voice Transformer to adjust pitch, formant, ducking and reverb.

Channel FXs include dub echo, jet, noise and filter, while the controller features numbers inputs including 4x PC, 2x Phono/Line and 2x USB/Line.

The DJ-808 also features RGB colour pads, which are velocity sensitive and can be used for hot cues, loop rolls, sampling, pitch play and as TR-S controls.

Pricing and availability are still to be confirmed for the DJ-808.
