NAMM 2017: Sabian introduces four new effects cymbals, Artisan Light and Elite hi hats and expands HHX series

The Sabian AA Mini Holy China.

New offers from Sabian include hi hats designed for lower volume situations and Chinas offering lots of white noise.

During the Winter NAMM show Sabian will be launching a diverse selection of new cymbals featuring no fewer than 25 different models.

First up, there are four brand new effects cymbals delivering new sonic options for drummers. The B8X Ballistic Crash features an innovative new hammer peen applied from the bottom up. This thin model is capable of high-pitched mayhem while remaining musical. It comes in 16” (RRP £114) and 18” (RRP £134) models.

Next we have the AA Mini Holy China, which has an exaggerated high profile, mini holes and a raw bell, meaning you can get more white noise, trash and cut than any other cymbal its size. The Mini Holy China comes is available in 6 different models: 8” Natural (RRP £152), 8” Brilliant (RRP £152), 10” Natural (RRP £170), 10” Brilliant (RRP £170), 12” Natural (RRP £187), and 12” Brilliant (RRP £187).

Next up is the XSR Fast Stax, a cymbal designed with a thin 13” X-Celerator top, which fits snugly over a wide-lipped 16” Chinese bottom to create a sizzling effects stack that can deliver plenty of clarity and attack. The XSR Fast Stax has an RRP of £342.

The last of the new effects cymbals is the AAX Aero Splash, which features a blend of musical effect and trash. It sits comfortably between Sabian O-Zone and Air Splashes on the white noise spectrum. It comes in 6 different models: 8” Natural (RRP £157), 8” Brilliant (RRP £157), 10” Natural (RRP £179), 10” Brilliant (RRP £179), 12” Natural (RRP £202), and 12” Brilliant (RRP £202).

Moving on to Sabian’s new hi hat offerings, the firm has unveiled the Artisan Light Hats – dark and rich hats that are light weight to deliver a lower-pitched tone than regular Artisan Hats, making them great for lower volume situations. The Artisan Light hats are available in 4 models: 14” Natural (RRP £726), 14” Brilliant (RRP £726), 16” Natural (RRP £792), and 16” Brilliant (RRP £792).

There’s also a new Artisan Elite cymbal, which has multi-peen, high-density hammering, unique lathing and a low profile bell for a deep, dirty sound. It’s available in a 20” model for £567 and a 22” model for £687. You can also get some Artisan Elite Hats, available in a 14” model for £726 and a 16” model for £866.

Finally, Sabian has rounded up its new gear announcement with an expansion of the HHX range. You can now grab a 21” HHX Evolution Ride for £478 and a 19” Evolution Crash for £412 – both are in Brilliant Finish.
