New Yamaha launches

Yamaha has added four new models to its digital pianos and keyboards catalogue.

Four new instruments announced in Frankfurt.

Yamaha has added four new instruments to its digital pianos and keyboards portfolio at Musikmesse 2016.

First up are two new Arius digital pianos – the YDP-163 and YPD-143. Both are high-spec models aimed at buyers on a budget. The YDP-163 features a Graded Hammer 3 keyboard action, an improved CF sound engine and Stereophonic Optimiser, which are designed to deliver an optimised sound, feel and audio experience.

Both instruments feature a two-track, on-board digital recorder, making them suitable for practice, performance and composition. A controller app for iOS devices also features for each model.

New to the firm’s leyboard catalogue are the PSR-EW400 and PSR-E453. Both models offer an array of functions and facilities designed for a wide range of musicians and students.

The EW400 boasts a 76-note, touch-sensitive keyboard, which accesses over 700 voices and more than 200 professionally produced styles and grooves. There’s a wide range of drum kits available and a new USB audio function, which allows the player to connect an audio input or output audio via USB, a feature that can also be used with Yamaha’s Cloud Recorder app.

This is complemented by a high fidelity audio system.

The 61-note PSR-E453 also boasts many of the features of the EW400 in a more compact format.
