Evans launches UV-cured drumhead series

Increased surface texture makes the UV1 extremely responsive to brush playing.

The range features Evans’ Level 360 technology and debuts a new logo.

D’Addario’s Evans Drumheads has launched UV1 – a brand-new series of drumheads featuring a newly patented UV-cured coating.

The UV1 is the end result of years of research, experimentation, and product development. Its coating provides unmatched durability and consistency of texture. Designed for durability and versatility, the UV1 also features a new 10mil film known for its warmer tonal characteristics while being more resistant to stretching and denting.

Combined with Evans’ Level 360 technology, and debuting a new logo, the UV1 promises to be the most versatile and durable 10mil drumhead for the widest range of sonic possibilities and musical applications.

“The UV1 Snare Head gives you a focused, full sound in the centre of the head with a musical balance of usable harmonic overtones (aka ring) at the edge that you don't have to "tune out" or mute down with tape or gels. It’s the perfect sound right out of the box! Excellent tuning range and feel, great for both studio and live, and they look fantastic too,” said acclaimed drummer Omar Hakim.

The added benefit of increased surface texture makes the UV1 extremely responsive to brush playing while the UV-cured coating provides unmatched durability.

The UV1 series ranges from sizes 10-16", with the official UK launch taking place at the London Drum Show on 12th-13th November.
