Vintage Pedal Works - headed by Steve Giles, who was formerly involved with the JMI clone range - is offering hand-crafted effects and amps to retailers and overseas distributors.
Doncaster based VPW already has a line-up of 'extremely familiar' 1960s and '70s effects pedals, pre amps and boosters made, the company says, by painstakingly following the design and manufacturing techniques of the originals, using the correct components from the period. The same attention to detail goes into VPW's valve amps, apparently, with AC30-like amps as well as pre-amp and Top Boost units.
Sales for VPW are being handled by Barry Turner who says: "VPW's Managing Director, Steve Giles, was responsible for the design and production of the extremely popular JMI Vox AC30 type amplifiers in recent years. Steve set up Vintage Pedal Workshop to build the same type of amplifier, but with the highest quality components available and a much improved transformer set of his own design ( Mains, Choke and Output). The sound of these amplifiers has not changed in any way but the reliability is second to none, the transformer design allows the VPW 30-6 and 30-2 amplifiers to run much cooler than the 1960's originals. All amplifiers and pedals are made to order and hand wired A to Z by Steve Giles. Our pedals are faithful reproductions of the classics.
"We're actively looking to appoint distributors for it's products in various countries."
