The Enfield-based dealer is opening a second shop, with a significant section devoted to teaching, in St Albans and has plans for more in the next few years.
Opening at the beginning of September, the new store will have nine sound-proofed classrooms as part of the 2,500 square footage on the Sphere Industrial Estate. With a 12-month waiting list for lessons in the local area, the store's owner James Cockell, believes he can help satisfy that demand.
North London Music Centre currently teaches 300 students a week, with six dedicated classrooms and 22 music tutors.
"With the demise of Hooters in St Albans there is now a gap in the market for a strong retailer to open which is what we will be doing with Herts Music Centre Ltd, opening on 3rd September," said Cockell.
"There will be a retail area stocking similar brands that our Enfield branch carries, a instrumental repair and servicing centre as well as an office and classrooms. The site will be open into the evening and has plenty of free parking nearby with good access from St Albans town centre."
Cockell says he plans to open two more stores over the next three years.
