The organisers of the annual NAMM Show have announced several changes to the event's format.
Firstly, registration will move out of the lobby and into surrounding hotels. Now attendees can check in, pick up their badges and head straight into the show. With the show now extending to the outer glass doors, entrances to the halls will be open and there will be fewer ID checks once inside the Convention Centre. The open lobby will play host to an exclusive Member Centre, digital media hub, new product showcases and more.
“NAMM Members tell us that the show is a critically important part of their business strategy,” said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. “These changes and new features are designed to help our members have a productive and fun time while they are in Anaheim.”
Lighting, touring and sound will now take place at The Venue – located in The Arena at the Anaheim Convention Centre – which offers dimmed overhead lighting and tall ceilings ideal for showcasing lighting and entertainment technology products.
The new Grand Plaza is currently under construction, but will be fully completed in time for the show. The Plaza, which runs between the Hilton and Marriott leading to the main entrance of the Anaheim Convention Centre, will include an outdoor stage for live music throughout the day and a place for Members to network.
NAMM 2013 will take place on January 24th to 27th.
Registration opens for attendees on October 3, for exhibitors on October 12 and media on October 18. Exhibition space is still available for the 2013 event and NAMM Member hotel bookings open on October 3, with non-member housing opening November 14.
