MI retailer Neville Brothers, which has been based in Derby city centre for 25 years, is moving to Station Road, Mickleover, the Derby Telegraph has reported.
Brothers David and Phil Neville, who run the store, have grown concerned over the future of Babington Lane, its present location, and felt it was time for a change.
"There are now a number of empty shops here and, in my opinion, the area has suffered from years of neglect by the City Council," said David Neville. "I don't think it's a problem exclusive to Babington Lane. Independent retailers in every city centre are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with out-of-town shops, where there is free parking."
The business is also in need of a larger premises than the one it currently occupies.
"The servicing and repair side of the business continues to do well and we need a bigger workshop," Neville added. "But at the same time, guitar sales in particular have been hit by the internet and we intend to sell off all of that stock before we move."

I wish you all the very best, fellas. Sad that you won't be buying guitars off me any more but I'm sure your servicing side will go from strength to strength.
