Musikmesse is looking to introduce a new hall layout for the 2013 show, which will include changes to the 'wind', 'bow', 'tab', and 'pickup' areas.
To make getting around the venue easier for visitors and exhibitors, the organisers are planning to centralise the exhibition halls around the Agora outdoor area. To make this happen, brass, woodwind, harmonicas and accordions will now be located in Hall 4.1, while stringed instruments will also move to Hall 3.1, putting them closer to music publishers and acoustic guitars.
The ground floors of both halls will provide the new setting for electric guitars, bass guitars and accessories, which will move from Halls 4.0 and 4.1. Hall 4.0 will focus exclusively on brands from this product segment, whereas other exhibitors from the sector will be located in Hall 3.0, together with companies from the percussion field.
“The great atmosphere at Musikmesse 2012 and the optimism prevailing in the sector cannot disguise the fact that certain segments of the market are under considerable economic pressure. Changes in the exhibitor structure cannot be compensated for solely by new exhibitors and bigger exhibition stands. This is an important step to consolidate the position of the fair as the world’s biggest international business platform”, said Cordelia von Gymnich, vice president Messe Frankfurt.
Wolfgang Lücke, Musikmesse director added: “For some exhibitors, adjustments and changes will certainly be unavoidable and we would like to thank all concerned for their understanding and cooperation. We will keep any inconveniences to an absolute minimum and at the same time take into account all requests and wishes. Therefore, we are informing our customers at the earliest possible time and inviting them to exchange ideas with us for the planning.”
In addition, the registration process for the event will begin later this month (June). Exhibitors can benefit from an early-booking discount of more than ten per cent by registering before September 15th. The registration forms and further details will be uploaded on to Musikmesse's website on June 18th.
