There will be two panel sessions during the morning conference, and we've made it easier than ever for the audience to ask questions and maybe even win a prize.
The first panel session, Winning Moves From MI’s Retail Stars, chaired by Roland's Peter Heath, assembles last year's MIA retail award winners - Tony White of Bonners Music; Alex Marten of Red Dog Music; Jonathan Myall of Just Flutes and Genevra Champion of Music Room
The second session, Backing The Future – What Next For MI?, chaired by the MIA's Paul McManus, will feature Roland's John Booth, Active Distribution's Lee Worsley, Darrell Priestley of Northern Music Supplies and Ian Wright (Drumwright). The panel session will discuss why dealers must embrace change, future trends in retailing and new technologies to look out for.
Questions from the audience will be encouraged and there will be a number of ways to do this. As well as standing up and asking a question on the day, retailers can submit them in advance by emailing lisa.carter@intentmedia.co.uk. There will also be question cards on the tables to hand in to the panel chairman or you can Tweet a question to @mirc2012.
All dealers who ask a question will be put in a prize draw to win an Apple TV.
Now in its third year, the MI Retail Conference & Expo, in association with Musikmesse, is a trade event backed by MI Pro and organised by Intent Media, and is aimed solely at maximising retail sales.
The event takes place on Thursday June 28th at The Brewery, Chiswell Street, London.
Legendary prog rocker and raconteur Rick Wakeman will provide the keynote discussion.
After a free lunch, the expo will open, featuring the market's biggest manufacturers and distributors.
In addition, there will be a series of 'Break-Out Sessions' during the afternoon, giving distributors and manufacturers the opportunity to present technical or service sessions with smaller groups of dealers.
An after-show drinks reception, sponsored by Roland, will provide networking opportunities to round off the day's events. And all dealers will go home with a VIP Gift Bag.
The UK's top 250 retailers are set to attend the event, and dealers can register by emailing mirc@intentmedia.co.uk.
