MI industry veteran Peter Corney passes away aged 68

Peter Corney, a much-loved veteran of the piano business, has sadly died at the age of 68.

Corney passed away on Saturday 7th October after a long and brave fight against cancer.

Originally a music retailer, he joined piano maker Kemble and Co in the 1980s and worked tirelessly as sales director up until the company closed in 2009. He subsequently joined Bluethner's in London and recently moved to Countywide Pianos.

“He was a brilliant, exceptionally hard-working member of our team and a personal friend,” said Kemble and Co’s Brian Kemble.

“He will be sorely missed by his partner, Mark, his 2 sons, Philip and Benjamin, his wider family, all his friends and the industry.”

Corney's funeral will take place at 3pm on Friday November 3rd at Canley Crematorium, Coventry. Address: 180 Cannon Hill Rd, Coventry CV4 7BX.

The funeral reception will be at The Westwood Club, which is a short drive from the crematorium.
