ACM presents Educational Innovation award to Dima Rizk at 2017's Positive for Youth Awards

The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) handed over the Educational Innovation: Empowering Others Award at this year’s Positive for Youth Awards to Dima Rizk.

Presented by Ace, the Academy’s head of creative industry development, and also the guitarist in Skunk Anansie, Rizk was chosen for her work as a UN human rights activist who crafts ‘bracelets of change’ to support the building of schools around the world via her own organisation. She also holds the role of Gimmemo UN UK Ambassador.

“As a thoroughly deserving recipient, ACM were thrilled to present her with this prestigious award,” said the Academy.

As a prize for her hard work and determination to help others, ACM have given Rizk an exclusive pass to attend the school’s September masterclasses at any ACM campus as a special guest.

September is set to be jam-packed with masterclasses planned for the Academy’s ‘Freshers’ Week’ and ACM hope that Rizk will take away a lot from her ACM experience.

“It was such an honour to present Dima with this award. We look for drive, passion and potential in all our students at ACM and it’s something Dima has in abundance,” said Ace.

“She is an excellent role model to our students and I’m thrilled to be seeing her again at some very special masterclasses in September.”

Alongside presenting the award, ACM saw its own students, Chinchilla and Nabsora, deliver impressive performances at the Positive for Youth Awards, which were hosted at the O2 Jetty.

ACM still has limited spaces available on its courses in Guildford, London and Birmingham via UCAS Clearing. For more information, get in touch with the Admissions team on 01483 500 841 to discuss your options.
