VIDEO: Yamaha unveils Revstar electric guitar range

A rival to Fender and Gibson

The Yamaha Revstar promises to bring something new to the electric guitar market.

Revstar range designed to take on Fender and Gibson in the mid-range market.

Yamaha has this morning (Tuesday, December 15th) lifted the lid on its Revstar electric guitar range, in what is its most significant electric guitar launch in decades.

Developed from the ground-up in collaboration with London-based design agency Forpeople, the Revstar range is intended to rival Fender and Gibson in the mid-high-end electric guitar market.

Yamaha’s first completely new electric guitar in 20 years is available in eight different models with individual designs and tones. Each comes with ‘industrial inspired finishes’, custom-wound pickups and optimised neck profiles for enhanced playability.

The model range is as follows:

RS320 in Black Steel, Red Copper or Stock Yellow high gloss finish - RRP £323
RS420 in Black Steel, Fired Red or Factory Blue high gloss finish - RRP £405
RS502 in Shop Black or Billet Green steel wool finish - RRP £485
RS502T in Bowden Green high gloss finish - RRP £566
RS620 in Brick Burst or Burnt Charcoal steel wool finish - RRP £646
RS720B in Ash Grey or Wall Fade steel wool finish - RRP £808
RS820CR in Rusty Rat or Steel Rust steel wool finish - RRP £808
RSP20CR in Brushed Black or Rusty Rat steel wool finish – made in Japan - RRP £1,211
