Musikmesse 2017: 3Dvarius introduces new 5-string 3D-printed violin

The new electric violin is now available for pre-orders.

3Dvarius unveiled a new addition to its impressive electric violin range at this year’s Musikmesse.

The new 3Dvarius 5 comes with an extra string – a C string – which is commonly found on violas.

The makers explained that the extra string increases the violin’s musical possibilities, helping the player to express their creativity in all music styles.

Although 3D-printed, the instrument promises the classic feel of a traditional violin.

We stopped by the 3Dvarius stand at Musikmesse to check out the new violin. Hear what it can do in the video below:

The 3Dvarius 5 is available now for pre-order for a reduced price of $6,499.

Production is set to begin in mid 2017 and the delivery estimate for new reservations will be communicated by email.
