Reissued guitar and bass models are similar to their classic predecessors in both looks and features.
The Danelectro Hodad has returned to the UK market with a set of reissued guitar and bass models.
The new Hodads – all retailing at £429 – are available in Black, Blue Metallic and Red Metallic as guitars, and in Black and Blue Metallic as basses. Similar to their predecessors in looks and features, they all include maple C-shape necks with rosewood fingerboards, along with a unique masonite-topped body, which produces a "loud and brash" tone.
The pickups are of the classic Danelectro lipstick variety, with two single coils on the basses and two pairs of lipsticks on the guitars – with a coil tap option available via a push/pull pot. The pickups are also wired in series, as opposed to many other guitars, which are wired in parallel.
