Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Music China promises its biggest ever expo, with more floorspace than ever before.
Organised jointly by the China Music Instrument Association (CMIA), INTEX Shanghai and Messe Frankfurt, it runs concurrently with Prolight and Sound Shanghai – an International Exhibition for the Event and Communication Technology, AV-Production and Entertainment industries.
The 2011 event will also see the show play host to a record number of international pavilions. This year will feature ten pavilions from Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Taiwan and, of course, the UK.
Music publisher Music Sales Group will be located in the UK pavilion with over 100 new simplified Chinese editions published in conjunction with its Chinese partner Hao Hao Music Sales. “We are committed to investing and developing the Asian and Chinese markets.”
Last year’s show attracted 1,274 exhibitors, an increase of 9.5 per cent from the year before. Visitor numbers increased to 48,047 - a 13 per cent increase on the previous year, with 3,578 overseas visitors (again, up from 2009 by 43 per cent).
More than 1,300 exhibitors from 29 countries will be present. The show has added an additional 3,500 square metres of temporary halls, bringing the total amount of exhibition space to 78,500 square metres.
