GALVANISE: Music and tech hackathon

Brixton’s Pound Café will host GALVANISE on July 5th – a hackathon exploring ideas in music technology.

Taking place between 9:30am and 5pm, the day will feature workshops, talks, performances, and will explore the wonders of music tech.

Visitors can expect to learn how to build their own instruments and hear from industry professionals.

Educator, maker, entrepreneur and award-winning writer Helen Steer of DO IT KITS will be speaking at the event.

She has worked in education for a decade and specialises in getting new technologies into the classroom in a fun, easy way.

Steer was previously a director of the innovative education platform Explorer HQ, with whom she published six books for children and educators.

The event is in conjunction with Wired4Music, Sound Connections and Livity. More speakers to be confirmed soon.
